Year of Prayer 2024

The Year of Prayer

Pope Francis inauguarated a Year of Prayer ahead of the 2025 Jubilee.

“Dear brothers and sisters, the next few months will lead us to the opening of the Holy Door, with which we will begin the Jubilee. I ask you to intensify your prayer to prepare us to live this event of grace well and experience the strength of God’s hope. Today we begin the Year of Prayer, that is, a year dedicated to rediscovering the great value and the absolute need for prayer in personal life, in the life of the Church and of the world.”

Pope Francis

The Vatican’s Dicastery for Evangelisation will publish resources to help Catholic communities to more fully participate in the Year of Prayer.

“This is not a Year with specific initiatives, rather, it should be seen as a privileged moment in which to rediscover the value of prayer, the need for daily prayer in Christian life; how to pray, and above all how to educate people to pray today, in the age of digital culture, so that prayer can be effective and fruitful.” hers and sisters, the next few months will lead us to the opening of the Holy Door, with which we will begin the Jubilee.
